A 5kWh floor mounted solar battery is typically considered for essential backup loads and solar self-consumption. The 10kWh and 15kWh versions extend the energy window for larger loads or longer runtime. Select the battery from usable energy, average and surge load, inverter limits, PV recharge and the required reserve state of charge—not from nameplate kWh alone.

Start with usable battery energy (kWh) ÷ average load (kW). For example, if the approved usable energy is 4.5kWh and the average protected load is 0.5kW, the baseline is about 9 hours. Then allow for inverter loss, reserve SOC, temperature, battery aging and motor starting loads. A refrigerator, pump or air conditioner can require much more starting power than its average consumption suggests.
Nominal voltage is only the first check. Confirm the inverter's battery voltage window, charge and discharge current, CAN or RS485 protocol, cable pinout, firmware, low-SOC behavior and approved battery model. A matching connector or brand logo does not prove communication compatibility. Compare the solar inverter range and send the exact inverter model before ordering.
Verify floor loading, cabinet dimensions, service clearance, cable route, protection devices, ventilation, ambient temperature and access for delivery. Confirm whether future batteries may be paralleled and whether mixed ages, capacities or firmware versions are allowed.

Calculate usable energy from the protected loads and required hours, then check inverter power, surge current and PV recharge. Keep a reserve for low-SOC limits, aging and weather instead of sizing to the exact nameplate capacity.
Expansion may be possible, but the quoted model, BMS, firmware, cable set and inverter must support the planned parallel configuration. Confirm the maximum quantity and rules before the first installation.
Confirm whether the quote covers the battery, base or cabinet, communication and power cables, breakers or fuses, inverter, monitoring, freight, tax, installation and commissioning. Comparing the same supply boundary prevents misleading price comparisons.
